Ar. June Chow, practising as JUN Architect ("I," "me," or "my"), is committed to protecting the personal data of individuals who interact with this website at arjunechow.com and the professional services offered through it.
This Privacy Policy sets out how I collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 [Act 709] and the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024, including all subsidiary regulations and guidelines issued by the Personal Data Protection Commissioner of Malaysia (JPDP).
By accessing this website, submitting an inquiry or contact form, registering for a masterclass or training programme, purchasing my publications, or otherwise providing your personal data to me, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of your personal data as described herein.

Personal Data We Collect
3.1 Information you provide. When you submit an inquiry or contact form, I collect your name, email address, company or organisation name, and the content of your message. When you register for a masterclass, workshop, or AI training programme, I collect your name, email address, and relevant professional background. Purchases made through third-party platforms such as Gumroad or Amazon are handled directly by those platforms, and I do not receive or store your payment card details.
3.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit this website, certain technical data may be collected automatically, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referral source. This data is collected through cookies, server logs, and analytics tools.
3.3 No sensitive personal data. I do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data as defined under Section 4 of the PDPA 2010 (including health information, political opinions, religious beliefs, or biometric data) through this website.
Purposes of Collection, Use, and Disclosure
Under the Notice and Choice Principle (Section 7, PDPA 2010), I am required to inform you of the purposes for which your personal data is collected, used, and disclosed. These purposes are:
- to respond to your inquiries and communications;
- to provide the professional services you have requested, including architectural consultancy, AI training programmes, speaking engagements, advisory services, masterclasses, and related professional services;
- to process registrations for events, workshops, and training programmes;
- to send updates or newsletters to subscribers who have opted in;
- to operate, maintain, and improve this website and the services offered through it;
- to comply with applicable Malaysian laws, regulations, and lawful requests from public authorities; and
- to protect my legitimate professional interests and legal rights.
I will not use your personal data for purposes materially different from those stated above without first obtaining your fresh consent, unless permitted or required by law. You have the right to limit or withdraw consent to the use of your personal data for purposes beyond those directly necessary to provide the service you requested, including direct marketing. Disclosure to Third Parties
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. I may disclose personal data to the following categories of recipients only:
- Service providers engaged to perform functions on my behalf, including my event registration platform (Luma), newsletter platform, website hosting provider, email service provider, and analytics provider. These parties are required to process personal data solely for the purposes I specify;
- Professional advisors, including legal and accounting advisors, where reasonably required; and
- Public authorities and regulators, including the Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi (JPDP) or other relevant Malaysian authorities, where required by law, court order, or lawful request.
Cross-Border Data Transfers
Some of my service providers are based outside Malaysia. Where personal data is transferred outside Malaysia, I take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient provides an equivalent level of protection, consistent with the requirements of the PDPA 2010 and the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024. This may include confirming that the recipient country has substantially similar data protection laws in force, or that appropriate contractual safeguards are in place.
Retention of Personal Data
I retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. Specifically:
- inquiry and contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months from the date of receipt;
- training and event registration data is retained for up to 5 years, consistent with professional record-keeping obligations;
- newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion; and
- technical and analytics data is retained in accordance with the relevant service provider's standard retention periods.
When personal data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Your Rights under the PDPA 2010
Under the PDPA 2010 (as amended), you have the following rights:
- Right of Access (Section 30). You may request access to the personal data I hold about you and information on how it has been used or disclosed;
- Right of Correction (Section 34). You may request correction of personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or not up to date;
- Right to Withdraw Consent (Section 38). You may withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time by giving reasonable notice. I will inform you of the likely consequences, which may include my inability to continue providing certain services;
- Right to Prevent Direct Marketing (Section 43). You may at any time request that I cease using your personal data for direct marketing purposes; and
- Right to Data Portability (Section 43A). You may request the transfer of your personal data to another data controller, subject to technical feasibility and compatibility of the data format, as introduced by the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024.
Requests should be directed in writing to the contact details in Section 02. A reasonable fee may be charged for access requests. If you believe your rights under the PDPA 2010 have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with the Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi (JPDP), Ministry of Digital, Malaysia at www.pdp.gov.my.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach that causes significant harm to affected individuals or is of a significant scale, I will notify the Personal Data Protection Commissioner and affected individuals in accordance with Section 12B of the PDPA 2010 (as introduced by the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024) and the Data Breach Notification Guideline issued by the Commissioner on 25 February 2025, within the prescribed timelines.
Security
I have implemented reasonable technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, loss, or destruction, in accordance with the Security Principle under Section 9 of the PDPA 2010. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
